Math

Q SCI 291

I had a wonderful time taking this math class as it allowed me to hone my calculus skills. The course was especially interesting as it offered calculus problems intertwined with biology content. I found that merging the two fields allows for a unique showcase of interdisciplinary learning across the different STEM fields. Overall, this was a wonderful course that granted me the opportunity to connect common math to major-specific problems, as I am an environmental science major.

Psychology

PSYCH 210

This course was definitely one of the most unique and open classes I have taken since starting at the University of Washington. Psych 210 highlighted the complexity of sexuality and dove into how humans view sex across the globe. Through guest speakers and an interactive textbook, I was able to learn how society's perception of sex has changed over time. In addition, this class gave me a chance to learn about UW's "sex' culture and how different social groups affect one's viewpoints of sex.

Honors

HONORS 391

This honors course covered the varying landscapes and neighborhoods of Seattle through in-depth lectures as well as hands-on field trips. In this class, I was able to learn so much about the city I was raised in and tour many new parts of Seattle. The final consisted of a group project where my teammates and I investigated how the Yesler Terrace neighborhood has grown over the last hundred years. Through this final we were able to view how gentrification has shaped downtown Seattle and what community building efforts are currently in place to unite Yesler citizens.
